How much better will Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 be than its predecessor?

As we enter October, the flagship race has started in the Android market. Both MediaTek and Qualcomm will announce their latest processors. Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 or Snapdragon 8 Elite, which will be introduced at the Qualcomm Snapdragon Summit event on 21 October, looks quite advanced in terms of performance. So how much faster will Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 be than 8 Gen 3? Here are the details…

The 8 Gen 4, which Qualcomm will introduce in the coming weeks, will be one of the first mobile processors that will come to mind when it comes to flagship. The new chipset, which will carry the performance of Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 to higher levels, can also be called Snapdragon 8 Elite.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 had 1x 3.3GHz Cortex-X4, 3x 3.2 GHz Cortex-A720, 2x 3.0 GHz Cortex-A720, 2x 2.3 GHz Cortex-A520, and Adreno 750 GPU. The new processor will allegedly have 6x 3.53 GHz efficiency cores as well as 2x 4.32 GHz performance cores and Adreno 830 GPU. In addition, OnePlus 13, powered by this processor, received approximately 3,250 single core points and 10,000 multi-core points in tests.

These AnTuTu scores are almost 50 per cent more than the previous model. With the improvement on the graphics unit side, the processor 8 Gen 3 will offer 56 per cent faster performance compared to Adreno 750 to Adreno 830. In this way, it will offer an uninterrupted and smooth gaming and video experience at higher resolution and refresh rate.

In addition, the processor, which is expected to be introduced in an overclocked version called Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 for Galaxy, is expected to reach much higher rates. Of course, with all these innovations, 8 Gen 4 can be 20 per cent more expensive than the previous model. The processor is first planned to power the Xiaomi 15 series, Honor Magic 7 series, OnePlus 13, and iQOO 13 models.
